My YouTube Channel
Check out my YouTube channel, which has videos from me taking about Embodied Leadership, as well as other videos that I thought were interesting.
Amy Cuddy’s TED Video
Amy Cuddy has been working at Harvard on the role of our body in our emotional states, and how our hormonal responses change in response to posture. This gives a summary of some of her research. I will also include links to a paper she has written, on the Articles and Papers page.
Strozzi Institute is where I have completed the majority of my training in Embodied Leadership. Click through to a You Tube channel of videos where they give further information on their work.
Eve Ensler’s TED Video
I have been warned that a lot of men won’t ‘get’ this video, but I suspect that’s not true. In it, Eve Ensler, author of The Vagina Monologues, speaks poetically and passionately about the process of learning to inhabit her body.
Dan Pink’s RSA Animate Drive video
During the book I reference this talk (and Dan’s book on the subject) when addressing how developing Mastery in something is inherently motivating. It’s worth watching.
Heribert Watzke’s TED Video: The brain in your gut
Another video I reference in the book, which looks at the brain in our guts – yes there is one – and how gut feelings are truly important.
YouTube Videos: Conforming to social norms
In the book (chapter 9) I reference two videos which look at conforming to social norms. The first is a Candid Camera clip, and the second is an experiment by Stanley Asch. They both give a powerful illustration of how much the social situation and context controls our behaviour.
Steven Johnson’s TED Video: Where good ideas come from
Another video I reference in the book (chapter 10) is this one on where good ideas come from. It nicely dispels some myths on the subject.
Leadership Embodiment / Conscious Embodiment
This is the work of Wendy Palmer, and whilst I have done the majority of my training elsewhere, I have seen her at work and she is masterful. Click through to a You Tube channel of videos where she gives further information on their work.
